A series of videos we create with a microscopic crew, documenting Questlove's Food Salons—events where prestigious chefs prepare courses for thought leaders in art, music, film and more.


This episode of Questlove's Food Salon, "80's Edition," held in East Hampton, challenged chefs to each create a dish inspired by 1980s fine dining and modernize it. The Food Salon is a gathering of thought leaders in art, music, film, TV, and food. Questlove’s chef friends Greg Baxtrom, Christina Tosi, Jeremiah Stone, Michael Solomonov and Daniel Humm each created dishes inspired by the 1980s.

Questlove’s chef friends; Rising star and chef prodigy, 16-year old wunderkind Flynn McGarry who was featured on the cover of New York Times Magazine in 2014 and now has opened his first restaurant, Eureka, in New York City prepares a first course, Executive Chef at Manhattan hotspot Charlie Bird, Ryan Hardy who was nominated four times for James Beard’s “Best Chef, Southwest for his work at Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado prepares a second course, Jean Georges and Noma vet, and co-owner/pastry chef at Contra, Fabian Von Hauske prepares a third course.
