Scamanda (Docu-series)

ANIMATOR

This docu-series became ABC News’s most-streamed series launch ever according to Variety. Outside of the fantastic intro sequence, I’m responsible for the vast majority of the animation over the four episodes of this series. A lot of the story revolves around a viral blog that the main subject, Amanda, created wherein she perpetuated a hoax that she had terminal cancer. My responsibility was, in large part, to create animations of blog posts, illustrating different key story points and evidence of her manipulation. I also animated several e-mail exchanges and a bunch of court documents that trace her eventual criminal downfall. I also helped develop the visuals of the chapter titles that introduce each episode and animated them.

This project was fascinating to work on, as I was slowly given more documents and raw blog information to develop and animate—so I became quite obsessed and enthralled in the case myself as I was drip-fed more information about the outrageous lies seen in her blog, and the the details of her eventual downfall from court documents.
